McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project
Forsyth / Fulton County

Overview

5.243 miles of widening and reconstruction on McGinnis Ferry Road beginning west of Sargent Road and extending to the Chattahoochee River. McGinnis Ferry Road will be widened from two lanes to four lanes, doubling current traffic capacity in the area.

The construction along this corridor will include sidewalks and a raised median, contributing to improved safety and traffic flow. The project scope also includes extensive utility work.

Motorist Safety

The Georgia DOT is dedicated to providing safe conditions for both motorists and workers on our roadways. As with any construction project, motorists should slowdown, be alert and pay special attention to all work zone signs, pavement markings and traffic control devices. Motorists are also urged to avoid unnecessary lane changes; allow extra distance between themselves and the vehicle ahead; and to exercise extreme caution while driving through these work zones.
