Environment Services is responsible for obtaining environmental approvals for all constructions projects both on time and in accordance with numerous environmental laws, rules, and regulations. This office provides proactive customer service with respect to identifying environmental resources; assessing project effects to identified resources; preparing environmental documentation; obtaining all necessary regulatory permits; and avoiding, minimizing harm, and mitigating adverse effects to environmental resources by coordination with GDOT design teams and other disciplines.

Generates and processes all Work Authorizations (WA) and Project Funding Modifications. Maintains the SPR & PL Program and initiates close-out requests for all inactive Federal-aid projects.

The Office of Transportation Data is the Department's principal source for highway and traffic data.
